Sunday Social

Linking up for Sunday Social for the first time. I've been out of the blogging world for a while and most of my link up peeps are no longer bloggers. :(

1. Did you ever sleep walk as a child?
Yes! I haven't in a few years. 2 times really stick out of my mind... Once when I was like 5-6, I tried to go out our front door. We lived near a really busy street, so my dad would put his tool box in front of the door and bells on the handle at night. Crazy kid. The other one was when I was probably 19-20, I went out my mom's front door, sat on her front porch, and rocked in the rocking chair. There was a house across the street with a really loud fountain. Why do I remember (or do) this stuff?

2. Did you ever run or sneak of the house?
I wanted to run away once- wrote a letter to my parents and everything. I was like 11. I cried my eyes out, fell asleep, and got over it.
Not my house. I have an older sister that did a few 'rebelish' things and I saw the repercussions. My mom was serious business. But with that said, my best friend was the rebel middle child in her family, so we'd 'go to bed' and sneak out the window in her room. We were crazy.

3. Did you have an imaginary friend?
I didn't. I would have really realist dreams and wake up thinking, 'did that just happen? do I know them?'

4. Did you ever go toilet papering?
No... again, I think my sister did that once and got in deep trouble.... or was that cow tipping?

5. Did I ever sneak shows I wasn't allowed to watch?
Oh yes. I remember in 8th or 9th grade I was sneak watching Nip Tuck but it was forbidden. Watching it now, I know why. Also, Dawson's Creek as a pre-teen, and Rugrats at my grandparents house!

My childhood was interesting.... thanks for letting me realize that!

Crock Pot Teriyaki Chicken

I'm starting to get into crock pot recipes. I'm finding that a lot of meals that I like can be done much easier in a crock pot.
So one of my favorite meals.... chicken teriyaki!
I add too much sauce for my own good.
I saw this on, where else, Pinterest. It was amazing!

1 pound of chicken diced
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup teriyaki sauce (whatever is your favorite)
1/3 cup sugar
3 garlic cloves, minced
favorite rice

side notes
> I added 3 pounds and it still wasn't much, so if you want left overs- add more! Just throw a little more of the other stuff too.
>> I used garlic powder instead of cloves (because I forgot to get them at the grocery and it's all I had)
>>> I used Uncle Ben's Teriyaki Style rice... you know the 90 second kind. :)

How to:
1. Combine all ingredients except chicken
2. Dice raw chicken
3. Add chicken to sauce and combine
4. Pour chicken mixture to crock pot
4. Cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until chicken is cooked throughly
5. Cook rice and pour chicken over

Super fast and easy. Super yummy!
I don't know what it is about chicken teriyaki, but I love it reheated!

Hope you enjoy it!!

Miss to Mrs

Last weekend was my very best friend (since the third grade) bridal shower. I had so much fun planning it.

Her wedding colors are pale pink and grey- so to make it a little girl, I did the shower in pink and gold. Being the over- planner and coordinator that I am, I have been buying stuff here and there for months and months now. I made pretty much everything.. from the invites, signs, cakes, games, recipe cards, etc.

Inside the invite, I included a recipe card for everyone to fill out and bring to the shower with their favorite recipe on it to give Emma. She's learning how to cook, so she needs to fill up her recipe box.

She received so many gifts, I thought everything off their registry was at this shower.

So here's the good stuff; pictures...

The invite...
(that had the wrong date on it!!!)

Welcome table.

The cake. I made. ;)
Cake and cupcakes!

Flower arrangements.
Baby pictures!

Beach hat I got her with her new initials!

Me with the Mrs!

After the shower, everyone was showering me with compliments.... saying I should be an event planner. It was bitter sweet to hear this considering that was my first major going into college.

The shower was perfect. There was a great group there, all the bridal party made it, and I got to see old high school friends again.

Just a little over a month now until Emma's big day!

Now that you know my name....

Sprucing up this blog is on my to do list- soon.

Along with that, I'm wanted to change my blog name too.

Any suggestions?

How did you come up with your blog name?

I am so excited to link you with a complete waste of makeup for one of my favorites- venting.

The semester is winding down, and I am going to blog more this summer! Let's start here.

Its Ok Thursdays

It's okay to plan ahead.
It's okay to be scared of the future.
It's okay to be scared to quit your job of two and half years for a completely different direction.
It's okay to be excited to have a four week summer break.
It's okay to book yourself a message the week before dead week.
It's okay to eat all the brownies.
It's okay to depend on coffe.
It's okay to buy the coffee because you don't have the energy to make it yourself.
It's okay to write, rewrite, proof, and write again a simple email.
It's okay that I am a die hard fan of The Office and I'm happy it's going off.
It's okay that I can't save money.
It's okay that I won't be able to spend money in a few months because my life will be all class- no life.
It's okay to take too many classes just to graduate in the fall.
It's okay that I blog once every three months. :(
It's okay to be so over this blog layout.
It's okay to need one day to yourself to do nothing during the weekend.

It will be okay.
